    • Virtual Blood Bank Intermediate Training Symposium

      The Virtual Blood Bank Intermediate course will cover advanced antibody identification strategies using evidence based critical thinking. The target audience is a Blood Bank CLS with current experience in antibody workup with recommended prior completion of the Blood Bank Basics course. At the completion of this course, participants will be able to select one or more appropriate test methods or strategies of identifying antibodies and selection of compatible blood.

      This is a remote learning course and will require participants to provide interactive dialog via online chat and audio response. Participants must be available to attend virtually both days of the course to earn CEUs.

        Eligible Participants

        Current Kaiser licensed bench CLS or ALAD CLS that supports Blood Bank if space available.

        Note

        This course is being conducted virtually. You will need a quiet place with a good internet connection. Kaiser workstations must have access to MS Teams. If participating from home, you must forward the MS Teams meeting link to your home email if not provided at time of registration. It is recommended that you dial in and use your phone for the audio to avoid common connection issues.

        • Be prepared to log in 15 minutes before the start time to test your connection. You will also need to have printed materials available. Training materials will be shipped to your KFH work facility.
        • You will be expected to respond to all requests via chat or audio to earn CEUs. Failure to respond via chat or audio at check-in following end of break/lunch period may result in loss of CEUs.
        • There will be two 15 minute breaks and a 30 minute lunch. Meal breaks are “on your own”, but you must return promptly for online check-in at the designated time.
