Blood Bank Basics Training Symposium
This course will provide a refresher of the basic techniques of ABO, Rh and antibody problem solving. Participants will gain a better understanding of:
- Major antibody/antigen reactions
- How to select appropriate testing and identification methods
- How to select appropriate donor units of blood

Eligible Participants
This training symposium is a basic course in blood bank techniques and is targeted for those who are just entering, reentering, or infrequently work in the blood bank section. The intended audience is Clinical Laboratory Scientists (CLS). Supervisory personnel are welcome.
Note
This course is two days. Participants MUST BE AVAILABLE to attend both sessions to earn CEUs.

- Antibody ID panel exercises and case studies
- Cold reacting antibodies
- Selecting appropriate donor units
8:00 - 4:30 Breakfast and Lunch will be provided each day.
Two 15 minute breaks and 30 minute lunch each day.
