The student will gain basic understanding of the important legal definitions & doctrines pertaining to malpractice, risk management, ethics, & patient rights relevant to the field of diagnostic imaging & the role of the imaging professional. The course includes case histories that assist students in applying the principles of law to real work situations. This course covers clinical policies & procedures, HIPAA, & the patient’s bill of rights. This course focuses on the sonographer.
